Bardet-Biedl Syndrome Symposium

There will be an upcoming symposium (schedule) on Monday (12/8) covering Bardet-Biedl syndrome that is currently being characterized by multiple labs on campus (a true pan-Iowa River project).  The research into this disease covers many different disciplines and should offer quite a few good talks:

Pamela Pretorius will be giving her talk @ 11:50am: A distinct role for the BBS3 Long Isoform (ARL6) in Vertebrate Photoreceptors.

Yan Zhang will be giving his talk@ 4:15: Phenotype of heterozygous mice.

Peter Jackson (from Stanford/Genentech [not the hobbit one, I double-checked]) will be giving the keynote:

“Assembly and Signaling in the Primary Cilium: or How to use Proteomics to Discover the Cell Biology Behind Human Genetic Disease”
